Located in southwestern and central Lake Champlain Vermont, the Green Mountain National Forest is over 400,000 acres in size. It is the largest tract of contiguous public land in the State of Vermont. It was established in 1932 and is one of only two National Forests in New England – the other being the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire. The Forest provides ample opportunity for four-season outdoor activity.
