Explore the Adirondack coast's striking natural landscape on horseback! Visit the Adirondack Equine Center at Ausable Chasm any time of year—for a horseback or sleigh ride through the countryside.

In the Lake Champlain Vermont Valley, riders of all ages can journey through the region's gorgeous woodland forest. Riders are taken out by a knowledgeable trail guide who leads the way, provides assistance, and answers questions. Prior to every ride, riders have an orientation lesson to cover safety and basic horsemanship.

During the winter, the Equine center is open every day, offering scenic Adirondack sleigh rides at the Lake Placid Club Golf Course. With an exceptional backdrop featuring the Adirondack High Peaks and the Lake Placid Ski Jumps, you'll enjoy a lantern lit ride in a deluxe and comfortable sleigh—with a covered top for bad weather!

If you would rather watch horses than ride, head to the Adirondack Polo Club in Westport for an exciting polo match. You'll see experienced players bump and jostle each other, racing at top speeds up and down the field, striking the ball from atop beautiful thoroughbred horses. Polo is one of the fastest, roughest, and most dangerous sports played today—and is a premier spectator sport.
