If you are looking to fulfill your vacation needs in one spot, downtown Burlington Lake Champlain Vermomt is a great place to start: stroll up the Marketplace with its boutiques, art galleries and high end clothiers. Our world-class chefs offer dining experiences from the exotic to the kid-friendly, all in a walkable, friendly environment. Wander down to the Waterfront for a hands-on children’s museum, a lakeside bike path and funky eateries. There is entertainment aplenty in the nightclubs and restaurants, concerts, theater, or just sip a beverage while the sun goes down.
The Lake Champlain Vermont offers enticements to explore. Tour the Champlain Valley Wine Trail or brew tours with tastings. Find the nearest sugar shack and bring home maple syrup, maple candy, or maple cotton candy! Come in late winter for sugar on snow: the sugar maker will pour hot syrup onto your plate of snow, and it instantly freezes into maple candy.
Find the State Parks and hike or swim, or pick your own in our orchards or berry fields. Didn’t bring a bike? No problem! You can rent bikes right near the long bike trails that snake through our region. Bike the Champlain Islands and refresh with a maple creemee or fresh apple cider.
Our resorts have everything from zipline rides up the ski trail to golf courses and waterparks. Car shows of every stripe can be found, along with flea markets and antique shops. No trip would be complete without a stop at Rokeby, or the Shelburne Museum, where artifacts from the past two centuries have been lovingly preserved.
Entertainment is where we shine. We harbor a vibrant performing arts scene: concerts on the lawn at a great national museum or jazz on the patio of a tiny mountain restaurant, rock concerts with national acts or poetry slams in cafes. Check out our event calendar, or take a “penny hike” and stumble onto something special!
The Lake Champlain Vermont sparkles in all seasons. Bask on a beach, take the ferry, rent a canoe, kayak or sailboat, or watch the sunset from a lakeside deck. In winter you can skate on the frozen bays, ice fish, or play pick up hockey.
